Men’s Shalwar Kamiz

Shalwar is made of mostly cotton for men and is wide from middle and as it closes to ankle it becomes narrow.  Drawstring called "Zarbund" is used to hold shalwar from waist.  Unlike ladies shalwar kameez, men tend not to do that heavy of embroidery work on their shalwar kameez.  If they do choose to do some work they do it on chest and end of sleeves but very light.  Most of the work is done using machine embroidery.   Tailors who sew men shalwar kameez often do not sew ladies as they have to be an expert in their own field of either women shalwar kameez or men shalwar kameez.
Men shalwar also comes in different styles where it is just like trousers (pants) but a little wider and straight.  These kind of pants are called "Pajama".  Pajama is often worn with Kurta which will be explained later on.
Kameez is something that covers shalwar from the waist and length is usually up to kneez.  Instead of dupetta men often take a big piece of cloth about 7x5 over their kameez but it is not oftenly used.  Men Shalwar kameez often comes with or without collar.  Men shalwar kameez that is without the collar is often called Kurta.
Kurta is a different name of Kameez that is used by men or by women.  Men kurta is a very light fabric (see through) that might or might not have any work on sleeves and on chest.  Length of Shalwar or Kurta is same as pants for Men and do not have options of making it smaller like capris in for women.  At least so far there is no fashion trend for that as of yet.
There are many fashion designer for Men Shalwar kameez in India and Pakistan and this alone is a huge industry catering Mens Shalwar Kameez.
