Spring Summer 2011

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011

Fashion Week wraps up today with its enchanting, heart hitting spring/summer collection in Milan Fashion Week 2011.

Seven consecutive fashion filled days that kicked off on Tuesday, September 22 in Milan Fashion Week wraps up today with its enchanting, heart hitting spring/summer collection.  Myriads of new trends are seen in this fashion week with Giorgio Armani took the lead with its cool, deep blue collection personifying the mesmerizing loneliness of dessert.

The collection was opulent in its textural richness and intricacies of cut. Dolce and Gabbana transformed lacy, flowy curtains and bed sheets into classy, fairytale like white frocks that looked just impeccable and perfect choice for summer romance. Dolled up in dreamy, tribal, embroidered tulle dresses, with laced seams and mile long, flat ironed extensions, Robert Cavalli models were looking very sexy and seductive. The hip-hugging bell bottoms or long, webby skirts worn with tied-on tattered tops that left hips, bellies and backs exposed were sensually heart hitting. Gucci definitely rocked the catwalk with its ‘Sophisticated Seduction” collection that was mesmerizingly colorful and sweetly sophisticated.

The Spring/Summer 2011 Gianfranco Ferre collection, designed by Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi draws inspiration from jazz and from modern rhythms of the body in motion, interpreting the concepts of luxury and elegance as sensual variations on the theme of an easy, effervescent and absolute femininity.

The shoulder bags that Gianfranco Ferre featured on the Milan Fashion Week runway were small with metallic embellishments in the form of beads and small metal parts formed together to create an artistic focal point. Ferre used golden satin, black satin, black leather and white leather with chain straps to create their shoulder bag collection. The shoulder bags had shorter straps than what other designers have been showing for spring and summer 2011. Gianfranco Ferre's shoulder bags hit at the bottom of the waist on the models as opposed to the hip length straps Fashionistas have been seeing during the New York, London and Milan shows. Gianfranco Ferre showed his shoulder bags on both daytime and evening looks; although the handbags themselves leaned towards formalwear.

Gianfranco Ferre also featured small, formal clutches on the Milan Fashion Week runway. The clutches were also embellished with beads and metal parts formed together to create intricate designs. Ferre's clutches were formal and appropriate for black tie occasions; although they could be paired with formal dinner wear or darker, special occasion looks.

Gianfranco Ferre has given Fashionistas formal handbags which are an alternative to the easy-to-recognize evening bags from major designers. Ferre's handbags, although unique, are classic and can be worn season after season. For Fashionistas looking for classic, fresh and artistic evening shoulder bags and clutches that stray from the obvious, Gianfranco Ferre's spring and summer 2011 handbag collection will be the ultimate line.
